Best Ever Steak Shish Kabob

Who loves to grill!? Can I get a Heck Ya!!!! Seriously, I love grilling season. I love the way it tastes, I love how healthy it is, I love that my meals plans are so much easier! So in anticipation of all the grills being dusted off and greased up, I am sharing with you the Best Ever Steak Shish Kabob recipe (I am not kidding the flavors are killer).

Ingredients:
4 lbs Sirloin Steak, cut into 11/2-2 inch cubes (does not need to be perfect)
1/2 cup Canola Oil
1/2 cup Soy Sauce
1/2 cup Honey
3-5 cloves of garlic minced
Button Mushrooms
Onion (red, white, yellow all work)
Cherry Tomatoes
Bell Peppers
For Marinade:
In a large ziplock bag combine oil, soy sauce, honey and garlic (make sure it is well mixed)
Add cubes of steak
Let marinate in the refrigerator overnight if possible. 4-5 hours minimum.

Day of Grilling:
Cut vegetables into bite size pieces (not necessary for tomatoes)
Arrange skewers with vegetables and steak in any format that pleases you (remember that if you are using wood skewers to let them soak in water for about an hour before assembling. This will keep the skewers from catching fire while on grill)

Grill skewers on High heat about 3 minutes on each side (The marinade caramelizes over the high heat while the meat stays tender in the center)  You may need to adjust cooking times based on how you like your meat.

That's it! Serve this with a side of rice pilaf and a salad and it is the perfect summer meal!
This is a great recipe for camping too! Just marinate the meat and pop it in the freezer. This way it keeps cold in a cooler until you are ready to use it. You can skip the Kabob idea and just cut strips of steak if you like that better.

This recipe is one of the best things my mother has handed down to me. She says she got it from her butcher and has adapted it since then. This is the first meal she made for my dad when they were dating and this is the first meal my sister and I made for our hubbies while we were dating. I am telling you ladies this is a man pleasing meal! I hope you enjoy :) xoxo - Christie
