No Super Mom here

Okay.  So we need to talk.  I need some other opinions.

Since I have been back in America, about 2 months, I have pretty much fallen off the wagon.  Like, blogging wise.  I really love to blog, I do, but I am just not able to find the time.  I have been busy with summer things.  Like the pool, park, movies, hanging out with friends, jiu jitsu practice, watching other people's kids, you know, the regular things.
And I love it, I really do.  I love spending this time with my kids.  Watching their skin get darker because of the amount of time they spend outside or in the pool.  I love our little family vacations which we don't get to do much of when we are in France.  I love our church friends and family and being involved as much as we can there.  I just love summer.  I am loving our summer.

Then there is blogging.  And reading blogs. And staying updated on Twitter and Facebook and trying to understand Pinterest.  And comment on other bloggers and read new ones.  I am sure I am even missing things that I somehow should be doing.  Phew!

So here is my question: How the heck do you moms do it?  I can understand a little better if you don't have kids, because man do they take up a ton of time!  And yet, I know there are moms out there who homeschool their kids, work or own a shop, blog full time, and appear to do it all gracefully!  These are the super moms of the world.

No Super here!  Just mom.  And although I love and embrace my role as 'mother', I know there has to be a better balance to life.  I started this blog so that I can have time for me, something for me.  Now I am loosing site of that because I have horrible time management skills.  There has to be a better balance.

So what do you all do?  Mom or not, I know most women have a lot going on in their lives and a lot of you balance it great.  So I need advice.  I would love to hear how everyone else balances everything going on in their lives.

And with all that in mind, I'm SORRY!  I have been awful at reading everyone's blogs and I seriously need it!  I miss it!  I miss the inspiration I get from everyone's lives!  I miss linky parties and meeting new people.  So forgive my absense as I learn to balance this crazy thing called life.  I can't wait to read all the suggestions!

As with life in general, you need some "me" time every day, even if it is an hour alone each day. Make it at the start of the day or at the end of the day or whenever you have a quiet moment. I usually blog or tweet over a meal like breakfast or just before I go to bed.

At the same time, don't sweat it if you cannot blog or tweet as regularly as some. Offline life is underrated these days and I have really been focusing on life beyond the 4 walls of my room and more importantly, beyond my keyboard.

I do appreciate you commenting on the fact that non-mums are also busy. We are! lol

I think it's awesome you have a blog as an outlet! I wish I had some advice for you, but I am also horrible with time management! And I'm not even a mom yet!!!

(I'm not helping, huh?! Sorry.)

There's only so many hours in a day so:
GOD first
Husband second
Kids third
Me (you) fourth......

well, obviously im no mom...but before i moved to norway, i had alot going on in my life that i could feel your pain...

for me what would work best is to make 1 hour for yourself a day to only blog or do what YOU enjoy. nobody else. yes, you're a mom, but that is not selfish to do that. i never saw my mom do it when i was young, and i look back at her now and her life was our life...and while that is how it should be to a degree, just because a person has a family, they should still channel their passions in some form.

is there a time before the kids wake up or after they go to bed that you can slot yourself aside one hour just to blog or write? i wouldnt worry about necessarily READING blogs, id worry about keeping up with yours. i only say that because your emotions are not really going to get outleted (is that a word?! LOL) by reading others, but more so by keeping up with yours. we'll all still be here when you have more time...that i can promise! and people understand what you're going through, so if we leave comments on your blog and you don't immediately come back to comment on ours, no one is going to care ;-) we read your blog because we care about your life and your well-being...

i think the best thing to do is possibly just make notes of your summer in a notebook...and when you DO find the free time, you will already have posts at hand that you can just write about. when you're laying at the beach and watching your kids, write some ideas down and expand on them. then you have posts kind of written at the same time.

anyways, i ramble. email me if you need clarification on what i just rambled about LOL!!!!!!! <3

I don't have kids, but I know how time consuming life can be! I would suggest carving a certain amount of time out of each day (30 minutes in the morning and evening, for example), and use it to work on your blog, whether it be posts or other social media. Understand that it's ok if you don't blog; blogging should not take over your life. I find moments/times of living ONLY in the real world to be very refreshing!

I hope you find the answers you've been seeking hun!!

You may think you're not a super-mom because you're struggling to fit all of this in, but let me tell you that if you're spending all that time with your children, creating memories and having fun with them, I'm sure you're a super-mom in their eyes (:

I usually take friday and write all my post for the week. that way if little man decides to fuss do to teething or my other two boys just need mommy I already have posts. I don't always stick with them but they are there if I need them. Plus girl family comes first in my way of thinking so I wouldn't feel guilty if I were you just enjoy your boys and family. Blog land will still be there when you get back!

The best thing is to learn to embrace life and relax where you are at the moment. Try not to feel guilty about the things you are not getting done, knowing you will get to them "some time." My mom always told me, "This too shall pass" - before you know it, those adorable little boys will be all grown up.

Well it looks like you have already gotten loads of good advice. I like what Megan said about focusing on your blog, because it is more of an outlet, and we are reading your blog because we love it, we don't care if you return comments right away. Taking time away from blogging and living life is the best inspiration. Enjoy what you are doing and spending time with family and friends. When you have some quiet time, write, but don't worry about making an awesome post if you don't have time. Start posts, save them and finish up another day. I am heading back home in a couple of weeks and know that life is going to get in the way far more than it does here, but I plan to just take lots of photos and lots of notes and get to blogging when I can.

I sure don't have any advice for you, but I wanted to let you know that I feel your pain and care about you/your blog. Here I am, retired, and I question how people find the time to blog/Facebook/clean house/have a life/etc. I'm not doing a good job of balancing all of it. I wish you luck, and I hope you'll come back and share what works with the rest of us.

That very last picture makes me cry almost every time I look at it. :( But it's so true!
And I don't believe all those women who run a business, raise kids, home school and blog about it all are perfect.
There's got to be something they're hiding!!! LOL
