House Hunter's International

If you weren't already aware, my husband, boys and I are going to be on House Hunter's International on HGTV.  I wasn't sure if I should share the time and date of the show with everyone because honestly, I am embarrassed.  I know that it is television and they can make you out to look however they want to.  But when it comes down to it, my family and my friends know me and know who I am.  I guess it worries me a bit because most of the people I have met online through this lovely world of blogging, don't know me.  And if they don't know me personally and I am portrayed a certain way, it could be easy to believe it.
Yes, I got my makeup professionally done. My cousin happens to own a makeup company. It pays to know people!
So I am here today to set a few things straight.  I just wanted to clear the air just in case there are a few things misinterpreted through television.  Hopefully this will all be for nothing and I won't look like a crazy woman on the show, but you know, just in case.

For one, I do not run my husband.  I don't think there is an ounce in my body that could manipulate that man even if I wanted to.  Don't get me wrong, he loves me and respects me and my opinions, and we make most of our decisions together.  However he is the ultimate authority in our house and I like it that way.
Filming me talking to Lavar on Skype.

Second of all, sorry House Hunters, but I have to clear the air.  My husband NEVER travels with the boys by himself.  That is me every time.  The reason I feel the need to clear this one up is not because I want to make my husband look like he does nothing, he works very hard for our family.  But because it is hard to travel internationally by myself with two kids.  So I think I deserve credit for that! Can I get an amen??  And I have a slight feeling the show might make me look like I stay in the states to go shopping while my husband takes the kids overseas.  I cannot tell you how far that is from the truth.

I was asked to add a little drama to the show by emphasizing, we'll say, whether or not I could live in France.  If you know me and my family, you know the truth there.  I have lived here for 3 1/2 years now over a 5 year period and I think I'm okay.
The film crew was awesome, I had so much fun with them in LA and in France.

Okay, I think that is about it.  The hardest part about all this, I can't watch the show when it airs!  I have to wait until it is sent to me on DVD.  So I will be relying on Twitter, Facebook, and e-mails to see how much of a dork I look like!

Oh, did you want to know when it airs?  If you follow us on Facebook (which you should), you already know.  If not.... fine I'll tell.  It's...

Tonight 7:30 & 10:30 PST on HGTV

I would love to know if you get a chance to tune in!  And if you do and I do look like a dork, just know it's not all true.  Actually, I am a total dork in real life, so that might be true, just not some other stuff.

Yikes, it's here!!

I don't have cable, but my parents do. I'm so going over there tonight after the boys are in bed! Last year my husband's brother was on Animal Hoarders (for hoarding snakes, yeah), and we were very, very nervous how it would be portrayed. My husband has 4 brothers, and he is the only brother who agreed to be on the show. We were pretty happy with how it turned out, and my BIL has now gotten rid of ALL his snakes. So it turned out great for us! I hope the same for you!

I didn't see it, but I'm wondering about how things turned out for you. I think I'll check www.hulu.com to see if the rebroadcast is on their site.

I hope you'll be happy with the outcome. The vibe I get from you is that you and your husband and children seem like pretty easy going, cool people, so I hope that you're depicted as such.

BTW, you seem terribly familiar. Maybe you resemble someone else that I know/have known. I don't know, I can't remember. I grew up in Metro-Detroit (Rochester, to be exact), and have lived in Los Angeles, and now live in Houston. Hm mm... I don't know. Do you? Pardon me (on any account), if not.

At any rate, know that I'm a new SITS member who found a minute to stop by and check out your blog. My take on it? Really nice! Love your "How-to's"! Thanks a million.

I have to tell you I started following your blog a few months ago through WIWW. I love your slice of life from France features. When I saw your episode the other night, I was so tickled! You are so, so darling and I thought they did a nice job with editing your story. You looked like a happy, strong family and I ADORE the house you chose. Good for you, pretty lady! Job well done.

I didn't catch the episode, will look for it online but I had a friend who did "Love it or List it". It was funny to watch because I know that it's not how she and her husband talk to eachother AT ALL! Don't worry I'm sure, as you say, those who know you know the real you. Those of us who only know you online will take it with a grain of salt :)
