Tips for Spring Fashion

Hello, SITS Ladies yet again!  I am once more happy to be here!  Today we are going to talk about fashion for Spring.  Oh, Spring, how I love thee.  And since we've had a ton of snow this winter, (at least for me!) I have been just dreaming of beautiful colors and short skirts and sandals.  Oh, how my feet could use a pair of sandals!

So with these dreams in mind, here is what I am looking forward to this Spring.

Colors!  It's time to bust out the florescents!  That hot pink that didn't seem to work a couple weeks ago, yep.  Put it on!  Want to pair it with orange?  Go for it!  Now is the time that the sun is coming out, the birds are starting to chirp, and you need some color in your life.  Have fun with it, the rainbow is your limit!

Start to show some leg.  This might be a bit scary at first, trust me.  I am whiter than white especially after the long winter months.  And to top it off my black husband and half black kiddos just make me look downright pasty.  But this cannot be remedied without a little exposure to the sun!  If you are still apprehensive about it, try starting out with some sheer nylons to ease into it.

Layers.  If you are anywhere in the world where spring is hesitant to show her beautiful face, start with layers. Layer a baggy t-shirt over a long, fitted tank with a loose fitting sweater over that.  This way, if the weather decides to throw you a changeup, you just slip off that sweater and you're good.  It is also a great way to embrace the new season even if she's being a little shy.  I kinda have a feeling that's what it's gonna look like for me...

Floral.  Spring obviously comes with beautiful flowers.  Why not incorporate them into your wardrobe?  This can also go along with the colors suggestion too!  Bright florals, together and separate!  Either way, it is a fun, feminine way to brighten things up!

I hope these pointers have gotten you a little excited about spring weather that will *hopefully* be at our doorstep soon!  In the meantime, I think it's time for a shopping trip... it's always good to be prepared!

Fashion Inspiration

I am feeling a little less inspired the last few days.  It could be my whirlwind trip to LA for the weekend and trying to catch up.  I was so inspired flying by myself, I felt like I could conquer the world.  Then I got tired and realized we live in a really big world...  Maybe I'll just take a nap.

It's hard to be a 'fashion' blogger and not have the funds to just shop whenever you feel like it.  So I have to resort to things like shopping my closet in my 7 items 7 ways or trying to complete a 30x30.  So to spark my creative fashion juices, I turned to Polyvore.  I love that site!  Why not Pinterest, you might ask?  Well, as much as I love Pinterest, I don't like when I post my pins on the blog and people pin them from my site.  It wasn't my work!

So here is what I put together from Polyvore.  I have a night out outfits, which I LOVE. It's my fav.  Casual which I think is cute and comfy.  Work appropriate.  I don't have a day job, or actually my day jobs are really messy and leave fingerprints on everything, so this wouldn't be appropriate for my job, but you know, if I had one where I had to leave the house.  Or my jammies.  This is something I would love to wear. Then I have my comfy chic. I like the sweater and tights.  The boots may or may not be comfy, hard to tell.  Maybe some ballerina flats would have been more appropriate.  favorite looks

You can shop the items above.  But they're kinda expensive, because you know, these are dream outfits.  If they were featured in Target, I would be modeling them by now.

Would you wear any of these outfits?  Which one is your favorite?  Better yet, what do you do for a spark of inspiration?  Happy Thursday!

Inspiration ~ Fashion

I have recently been very inspired by fashion.  I love being creative with it and seeing how others do the same.  It is fun to think that there is no box, you do what you want and what makes you feel good and then you rock it, girl!

I was able to add a little bit to my wardrobe at the beginning of summer but now nearing the end and coming up on our move, I must.stop.shopping.  I don't want to get in the habit of always wanting more, never being satisfied with what I have.  So that's it.  I am going to take Kendra's 30x30 challenge.  I am taking 30 pieces of my current Wardrobe and remixing them.  I am gonna try to be creative, think outside the box and I am excited about it.  Most importantly, no shopping!!  Little lesson on being content!

Here is what I wore when it was like 100 degrees outside and I watched my beautiful, little niece.  If I ever needed a confirmation I don't want 3 kids, that was it.  Not because she was bad, she wasn't.  Just because I clearly can't handle it.  And that's okay.
Tae snapped some of these for me
This is what I wore to the beach.  This and another outfit I didn't take a picture in.  That is going to be the biggest challenge, taking a picture in each outfit!

We were trying to teach Tae how to boogie board, he wasn't having it.  I forget sometimes, the kid is 4.

Now for some lovely fall fashion that I might buy after my 30 days is up.  It's called planning ahead, thank.you.very.much.

Love the tall boots, as you can see.

And the loose shirt over a tighter tank. So cute.

I particularly love this.  Comfy, cute, stylish.  My kind of outfit.  Love the scarf.

Now for some impractical outfits. But also completely lovely.

Like seriously?  I am racking my brain to find a time and a place appropriate for this skirt.  Gorgeous.

So beautiful.  And maybe not entirely impractical, but with two little boys that have no concept of dirty hands, just not gonna happen.

This is not as impractical, super cute.  I am just not that fancy and don't need fancy clothes.  But I should probably have it in my wardrobe, right?  Ya, I thought so.

What inspires you when it comes to fashion?  Celebrities, magazines, 'normal' people, fashion bloggers, all of the above?  What is your style?  And if you have kids, do you still find time to wear a cute, impractical skirt now and then?  {Seriously looking for an excuse!}

What I Wore/Would like to Wear

Wow, what a rough day! My little man is sick, poor little booger. Literally, he is like a huge snot ball right now.  He is having the hardest time sleeping, which in turn means that I am having the hardest time sleeping.  I feel bad for the little guy.  Get better!!

So this blog originally started as a way to chronicle my journey to finding my personal sense of style while being a mom of two boys.  I want to be a cute mom and want to be cute for my husband.  It has since evolved into so much more, but I am here for a bit of an update, since I know you all were worried about me! :)

I feel great!  I am a super competitive person.  Like I have a hard time playing games with my husband because I can't handle if I loose.  And husband talks a lot of trash, so that doesn't help.  How does that relate to style?  Enter my weird little mind.  I might get dressed and think 'I look cute' then I leave the house and see my cousin or some other cute girl and I think 'oh my gosh, I am so not cute! She is so much cuter than me!'

So lately, I have been working on being okay with who I am.  Not with who I want to be or who I want people to think I am.  I want to be okay with where I am at that moment.  Which changes quite a bit, as you all know.
I don't have to compare.  I don't have to constantly be comparing myself to other cute girls.  I can just feel cute and that is okay.  My husband, who is a bit more stylish than me, tells me to just wear what I like and stop trying to please everyone else.  If I think it is cute, then it is cute!!
So the next step is taking pictures when I get dressed!  I was so proud that I wore some of my cute dresses and did my hair for church, and didn't take a picture.  Bummer.  So these three are the only three I had.  Next week I am hoping to do better.  And husband gets home Monday, whooo hooo!  Momma needs backup!

Oh and did you like the scarf?  You still have the rest of the night to enter the {French themed} giveaway here!

Relax - it's Summer!

And I can't really shop right now, and three outfit pictures is kinda lame, so I added some outfits via Polyvore.  Can you tell my mood right now?  Chillin', comfy, relaxing.  I want a maxi skirt, like, yesterday.  What do you think?  What items are a must for you this summer?

And lastly, I promise, The Circle of Moms voting ends June 6th.  You all are so stinking awesome that I am in the top 25 and I am so thankful!!  But I thought it was something that just happened every couple weeks or so, it doesn't.  It is just once a year!!!  So it would be super duper awesome to be in the top 20 or better  for me!  And it is totally doable, I can't believe I made it this far!  So if you could click the button and then click the thumbs up, that would be AWESOME!!  (It takes like 5 seconds!)

Polyvore Style

So, I could spend alllll day on this site.  And make a million outfits.  Which is great, because I can't really shop right now, so this is fun.  It's like practice shopping for when I can.  And I practice hard!

This is what I came up with.  Isn't it fun?  The reason I chose RED pants, and I chose them first, was to get my head out of the normal Natalia wordrobe.  I mean, I looked at my closet the other day and almost EVERYTHING is black, brown, or blue.  BORING!  I need some color in my life.  So I forced myself to think outside of the box with this one, and I love it.

This outfit isn't really all that practical, for a few reasons.  One being that I am 6 feet tall.  (yes, you read that right, and yes, I am already aware of it.)  So the shoes are just my dream shoes.  I also have huge feet.  So I am sure none of those lovelies come in my size.  And lastly, I must have picked the most expensive things on Polyvore.  Just not gonna happen.  Althought I just love the Stella McCartney shirt.  Love it.  And the ring.  And the Chanel bracelet...

So what do you think?  Would you rock red pants??  Do you already rock red pants?  If yes, AWESOME.  If no, join me in working up the courage!
