Simple Summer Solutions!

Good Morning!  How is everyone?  I hope all is well.  I don't know about you all, but me and my boys are loving summer and everything that comes with it.  Living in our bathing suits and pool hopping all day.  Phew!  I can't tell you exactly what we do all day, but we are busy!!

What's New with Ma Nouvelle Mode

Wow, what a busy few days!  I didn't even look at a computer yesterday. But I kinda needed a break.

I am kinda excited about some stuff going on, so I thought I would share with you!  To preface, let me just tell you that I love business.  I have wanted to start a business since I was like 5.  Unfortunately, with my lifestyle of moving around everywhere, I can't really do that right now.  But I have found that I have a little knack for start up business ideas and motivation.  And recently, I have been able to put it into use!

First of all, I have been able to help out a friend from church who is starting her own business.  It is called Sweet Little Cakes by Donna.  I was 'hired' (paid in in full with a free lunch) to be her start up business consultant.  She doesn't have a website or blog yet, (don't worry, I made sure she knew that was up there on the 'to-do' list)  Check out her facebook here.  Say 'hi' and tell her that I sent ya!  And, I mean really, look at the pics, need I say more??

Second, is that I am going to attend Creative Connection: Los Angeles Chapter next weekend.  I have met so many awesome creative women on twitter and can't wait to meet some in real life.  I can't tell you how excited I am.  Big shout out to Elise Ostermann (@EliseOstermann), she is incredible.  She is organizing all this, I can't wait to meet her!  Live in the LA area?  Check out the facebook page, 'like' it and join in!  If you don't live in the area and are feeling a tad bit jealous, no worries!   They are planning on expanding to a city near you!  Unless you live in, like, northern Canada.  Then probably not.  But you can still be involed, let Elise know if you are interested in getting involved.  And once again, let her know I sent you!

And on Thursday I have another business meeting with a 'client' who may or may not be paying me, either way is fine, I am just so happy to be getting out there.  She is a food blogger who creates awesome healthy recipes that are super simple.  You should check out Tracy's blog here. 

My good friend Jessica (@reachzionfit) is starting a health and fitness blog and guess what, I need to get in shape.  I just breath this American air and gain 10 pounds.  And my husband is on me to hit the gym.  So she is setting up a workout plan for me and adding some suggestions for supplements and things to help me along. I cannot wait to start feeling healthier!

Other than that, I have a few blog designs in the works, awesome!  I am super excited about it all!  So needless to say, I missed yesterday and actually got to go out with my husband which was cool.  I can't wait to get started on everything and share it with you all. 

If I get around to it, I am going to share a completely awesome recipe with you tomorrow.  Can't wait.

What Happened to April??

Happy Sunday everyone!

I can't believe it is already May.  Where did the time go?  I leave for the states in 8 DAYS now!  Yikes, I better start packing!

In honor of a new month, I thought I would take a post to do a 'month in review'.  But since my blog is so new, I am going to do a 'blog in review'. 

First of all, I would like to thank my followers!  I know, I sound like I am accepting an Oscar, but seriously, I have come to realize, that in this crazy life of mine, where we are never settled for very long, my bloggy friends will always be there.  Because I can take you wherever I go!  So thank you all for your friendships, you know who you are!

Now a few of my favorite posts. 

I love my outfit post I did here.  I love it because of the colors, I like bright colors.  I love it because of the scarf.  I love it because of the 'unopenable door'.  I also used my mom's good camera, which might  have something to do with the pictures turning out so good. 

Now my favorite craft post has to be my Countdown Blocks.  I have some jewelry I haven't posted yet that might beat it, but I am going with what is on the blog already. 

My favorite 'other' category post would have to be writing about our back story.  We had a tough dating relationship and a tough first couple years of marriage.  It was so encouraging to read all the comment love.  It is great to know that not everyone thinks like, well, you have to read the story!

So in summary, I started this blog for a creative, girly outlet for me and I love it. I love writing.  I love meeting new friends.  I love reading everyone else's blogs.  I love it!  So thanks for the support, friendy-friends!

In other news, if I am a bit absent from reading and commenting on your lovely blogs, please cut me a bit of slack and forgive me!  I am getting into packing our whole house and I stink at it.  So I get overwhelmed easy.  And if I am still reading and commenting, tell me to stop and get my butt in gear!

And I decided against my Projects in Progress Linky party.  I will have features tomorrow from the last one, though.  I am in the process of thinking up another cool linky party! 

Okay, off to bed.  Bonne nuit mes amis!

Sunday Recap

This week was great.  My older son spent almost 4 days with friends.  I got to clean and create and hang out and relax and it was lovely.  Just lovely.  I went to pick him up on Wednesday and Thursday we went to Annecy which was absolutely lovely as well.  Then I don't know what happened.  I went there with one kid and came home with FOUR.  There is a reason my husband and I stopped at 2 kids.  And this weekend was living proof.  The house is a mess, there is food all over the floor, and clothes everywhere.  The first day I didn't open my computer until the kids were asleep.  Second, later at night.  Today, I had it on first thing in the morning.  I just checked out.  I'm such a wuss.

Ok, so all that to say, I need to get my bootie in gear for this next week!  I have some projects in mind I would like to make.  Here are a few:

Paper Flower Wreath

I think I am exhausting all the things I can make from old books.  But I couldn't even tell that the flower wreath was paper until I looked up close.  All of these items were found at http://www.bystephanielynn.com/, one of my new favorite sites. 

I need to make my place look a little homeier (sp?).  Since I am having family coming Friday, I want it to be a bit more welcoming.  I am loving all the inspiration out there to help me with it!

I also want to get a few makeup tutorials up.  If you have any suggestions or would like to see a certain type, please let me know!  I would love to accomodate!

I want to get up a few outfit posts and maybe start my 30x30.  Maybe.  I don't know.  I'm nervous!
