Recipe ~ Stuffed Mushrooms

I have a yummy recipe for you today.  I know that mushrooms are not everyone's favorite (I happen to love them) but mushrooms with cream cheese with garlic with sausage.  Need I say more?

But I will.  And you're welcome.   It really is so easy.  Since hubs doesn't like mushrooms, I make it when we have company.  Then I stand in the kitchen over the tupperware and eat the leftovers all by myself.  mmmmm yummy....
So here we go!

Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel or cloth, not under water.  It will ruin the mushrooms.
Then pluck the stems out of the mushrooms and dice them up.

Sauté the sausage until almost cooked through and then add the garlic and mushroom stems.  Cook until everything is cooked through.  Drain off excess oil if needed.  (You can see that I needed to!)

Add cream cheese.  It is hard to convert measurements because I make this with French ingredients, but it was about 300 grams.  Does anyone know what that is?  Whatever it is, don't worry about being exact here.  A little extra cream cheese never hurt anyone!

Then you can proceed to stuff the mushrooms!  Get that stuffing in there and be generous!  Let it overflow on top.  It will mostly stay, and if some falls, not to worry.  It is still edible for sure!

After they have been stuffed, place them in a baking dish and fill the bottom with a little bit of water.  This will prevent the mushrooms from drying out during cooking.  You will also want to baste the mushrooms with melted butter before baking as well.

Pop them in a 350 degree oven for about 15 or 20 minutes and voila!!  You have a very easy, very yummy appetizer!

I hope you enjoyed this yummy little thing as much as I did!  (Well, probably not, since you haven't tasted them yet!)  Have a great weekend!
