Okay, so if you are a regular reader here you may know that my husband, boys and I were on a little show recently. It's called House Hunters International, heard of it? A producer from the show in London called me a while back, last summer actually, asking if our family would be interested in doing the show. My husband graciously gave me the go-ahead, although this is most certainly not his thing, and we got our chance at being stars!
I spent the months between filming, back in November, up until the show aired which was last Wednesday night, worrying. I am not normally a worrier, but I was this time. I was worried about how the show would portray me and my family, I was worried I would come across like a spoiled American. And while I might be in some aspects, I have most certainly learned to go with the flow. You have to with our lifestyle. So I thought I would do a follow up post with what I wore and a little insight into filming.

I chose this outfit because I wanted my hair to be something different but cute. However, I was unaware at the time of filming I would have to wear my hair like this for three days straight. And as you might have guessed, for a hair girl like me, that was kind of a bummer. But you just roll with it, I guess, and all the other chances I got I wore it down. If you want to see how I did this top-knot kinda look, you can head over to 30 Handmade Days. I did a post on it last Wednesday.
So some main questions people have been asking me are one: did you really pick that house and are we living in it. The answer is yes. That is our house. We are still currently living in it. We love it and although some things are hard (i.e. the hill) it is a great fit for us.
Two: Did you buy that house? The answer is no. We are renting that house and the team helps with furnishings & locating the things we need.

Three: How was filming everything? It was lovely. The people were nice and made us feel like pros although I am sure we didn't look like it. It was long days, but overall an amazing experience that I am so happy we did. It turned out lovely and I will be happy to have a dvd to remember this fun time in our lives.
Four: I liked the house with all the red! Why didn't you choose that one!! Well for one, it wasn't even for sell. The owners were there while filming! And for two it looked a lot larger on tv than it was in real life. And while I would have loved to live in the city, we needed more room for our crazy boys to run free!
That's about it! I would love to hear your take on everything if you saw the show. If you didn't I am sure it will be rerun all the time, and I'm not sure how excited I am about that...
Now off to finish packing up to head back to France. Wish me luck on this 14 hour flight and even longer travel day!

Good luck with the traveling!
Hope I have the chance to see your episode one day! I love that show. You're all so beautiful (inside and out) I'm sure that came through on the air.
Wow! What a neat experience. I hope I catch it one day so I can say "I know her! Sort of!"
I love that show but can you tell me when I can watch it again? I usually flip around the channels and it is on! It is interesting to hear from the inside how it works in the filiming! Take care and hope that your travels went well.
Fun! I love House Hunters! When it's on I can't help but watch it. I'll have to look for your episode :)
So fun. I'm a HH junkie! Your outfit is fabulous..so is your hair!
Can't wait to see your episode! ;)
I thought you guys did so great! I am a huge HHI fan and so often people come across as spoiled americans. You and your family came across as really normal/down to earth people...which is how I thought you would come across :).
It was SOOOO fun to see you guys "in person"!! I think the show portrayed you EXACTLY how you seem on your blog and via email. Kind, genuine and gorgeous!! :):) Yay for NO creative editing! Haha!!!
i havent seen this episode yet!!! I want to visit FRANCE so bad especially after reading your blog. Maybe the Lord will open the door to go someday. :) You look beautiful with that bright lipstick btw. You already know Im assuming sense you wear it fearlessly :). haha
♥CheChe
I watched it last week!! I thought you and your family were great! I like you all even more now! Seriously I thought you were so sweet and just an awesome little family. What a neat experience anyway to live in France and then to have a great show like HH feature your experience of finding a home. Love it girlie!
What is the title of the episode you were on? I was going through the guide looking for it but there are so many episodes to choose from! I want to make sure I find it.
Funny how every time I hear from someone that has done a TV show that is "reality" based, so much about it is not real. A guy my Hubby worked with was on a house buying show once. They had to totally tell a story that wasn't about them.
By far my favorite episode of house hunters :)
Week of Giveaways
I can't wait to see your episode! You look so beautiful. :)
oh cool! I rarely watch tv but it's fun to know someone that's been on that show! my dad, and subsequently us, were on a discovery health show back in 2004 or 2005 I forget, but it was rerunning for a long time. definitely not a great moment for our family, lol. this is MUCH better =)
