The Fourth

I got to go to Oceanside for a few days for the fourth of July. It was wonderful. We had a beautiful family day on the 2nd and then headed down to Oceanside. The 3rd was a yummy BBQ.

All is well in the world when there is a ball and a basket.

Then my husband took the kids home and I stayed. Yes, stayed! By myself!!

We went to the beach. It was packed.

And I am an idiot... I didn't wear sunblock...

Can you tell? My one vaca by myself and I get burned...

It was so nice to be at the beach and when there was a baby crying... It wasn't my problem!

Relaxing...  I am linking this post to GussySews' inspiration workshop.  She sends an e-mail each week with an inspiration and you can post on it.  I thought this was perfect since I don't often get to do it, and besides the sun burn, it was definitely a pamper!

What did you do for the fourth? I hope you aren't resembling a lobster like me... Still in pain 2 days later! I've practically been living in aloe.

I hope you all had an excellent holiday!!

Sorry about the sunburn, but it sounds like it was worth it. (I hope you don't peel, too.)

The weather was perfect! I drowned myself in SPF 30 so I'm not burnt but I sure could have been.

Reminds me of a daft black dude who was shocked that he went to the beach and got sunburnt. He did not know black people could get sunburnt. I looked at him and thought - how on earth did you get that PhD? lol. Glad you had a great time, albeit a burnt time. :-)

Aww....sweet of hubby to to that! We went to the beach too. My SIL's beach house was open and it was offered so we took it! It was fun. I wore lots and lots of sunscreen because we were on the beach 24/7 it seemed. Hope you feel better soon! I hate sunburn.
